Chris Brown Covers Blank By Gomillion and Leupold

Preparing his new album “X”, the artist from Virginia gave us a piece of his mind in this exclusive interview, revealing a side of him very little people know about: the human one.
After a couple legal battles and personal life tribulations, Chris rises from the ashes to win in the music industry again, diversifying his musical style to conquer a new mainstream.
In what aspects can you say your music evolved since the beggining of your career?
My music evolved in every aspects, from the style to the production. I had the opportunity to try different genres of music and collaborate with great artists as you can see in my albums, in which I sing and rap. Being in the music industry for ten years now helped me grow as an artist and as a human being also. I can cross music barriers or talk about more mature topics or explain my point of view. I write most of my songs so I think they’re close from my heart.
What impact did Michael Jackson have on your work?
Michael Jackson had an imapact on the whole world, especially the generation before me and the one after me. He inspired us to be the best ever in our jobs.
Let’s talk about your interest for street art.
Art like music and dance is another way to express myself. It has always been. When I was a kid, at like ten year old, my mother painted comic characters on her nursery’s walls. One day, I asked if I could help and I’ve been doing the drawings and the paintings ever since!
What is your motivation?
First of all, God. My family, my fans, Team Breezy and my love for what I do.
How do you keep your private life away from your artist life?
Music and art are an extension of who I am. It’s hard to separate the two. It is for every artist. That’s why it’s hard for people to stay focused on the final result: art.
Do you plan on visiting South America?
Yes, I have this single “Control” featuring Wisin Y Yandel and Pitbull which is about to be released soon. I’m excited because my last featuring with them did good. I worked with the two artists separately and I think it’s wonderful to work together. I’m willing to come back in South America as soon as I’m getting invited. I’ve been there before and I look forward to come back!
